About Our Programs
SACRED's programs offer a viable treatment alternative not available elsewhere in Edmonton or Alberta. In acknowledging the effects on all those touched by the life of the individual suffering, we provide complete care, preparing our clients and their families for return into a healthier lifestyle. Clients are supported to take personal responsibility for their recovery. They find physical, emotional and spiritual healing from their eating disorders and from the issues underlying them. As clients work the SACRED Program they are relieved of their obsessions about food, calories and weight. Upon completion, we witness their successful return to their families, their employment, their education and discovery of freedom to live healthy, joyous and productive lives. Without such services, many individuals would go untreated, resulting in isolation or, in severe cases, even death. Click here to view testimonials from SACRED participants.

Community Reintegration Program
Our Recovery
Day Program is comprehensive, covering all aspects of our clients'
lives that are affected by their disease. Firstly, clients learn
to surrender their unhealthy control over their food and exercise
behaviours. They are supported to work through the healing 12 Steps
of the ABA program. Experience has shown this to be a highly effective
way of combating addictions. Although the program encourages spiritual
development, it is not affiliated with any specific religion or
denomination. As sanity is regained through participation in our
Program, participants learn to prepare meals, eat and exercise in
a healthy manner.
Clients learn life skills, such as communication and problem solving, to assist them in their day-to-day living. They learn healthy ways to express and deal with their emotions. Our clients also learn about giving back and actively participating in their community by participating in educational presentations and supporting others who are still suffering. As part of the community reintegration process, clients are re-introduced to leisure activities and their importance in maintaining balance and improving the quality of their personal lives. These and other life skills permit our clients to experience full recovery and successfully return to active employment, education, their families, and communities.
Meal Support
To further support individuals at all levels of recovery, SACRED provides a Meal Support Program. On an as-needed basis, past participants of the Recovery Day Program who require more intensive follow-up or additional support can join us for selected meals at the Centre and/or have meals packaged for them to take home upon 24 hours notice. Our Program Counsellors are also available to provide support. This service and its popularity indicate it is an essential service to support individual efforts to recover from their eating disorder.
Drop-In Service
The Drop-In service is available to anyone suffering from an eating disorder who wants and needs support around their meals and their recovery.
