Did You Know...

The Society for Assisted Cooperative Recovery from Eating Disorders has adopted Imagine Canada's Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code as its policy. That means that we commit to fundraising practices that respect donors’ rights to truthful information and to privacy. We also commit to manage responsibly the funds that donors entrust to us and to report our financial affairs accurately and completely.

      • In June 2009, we were awarded a $19,500 grant from the City of Edmonton Community Investment Operating Grant.
      • In April 2009, we were awarded a $14,000 grant from the Community Spirit Program.
      • In January 2009, we received a $50,000 operating grant from the Wild Rose Foundation.
      • In December 2008, we received one time grant funding of $145,000 from Alberta Health Services in support of program enhancements and purchase of capital equipment. Thank you.
      • In November 2008, we had over 50 volunteers participate in a Casino that raised over $81,000 for the organization.
      • Thank you to TELUS and Dr. Bob Westbury, who provided SACRED a $10,000 grant to develop a community resource brochure.
      • In August 2008, we received $10,000 from ECALA in support of our Expressive Arts Therapy program.
      • In June 2008, we were provided $44,000 in operating funding from Alberta Health Services.
      • In May 2008, we were awarded $35,000 each from the Stollery Charitable Foundation and the Edmonton Community Foundation in support of our operations.
      • In February 2008,we were provided with funds from the Livia Stoyke Foundation to support SACRED's Expressive Arts Program!
      • In December 2007,we were awarded a Community Public Art grant from the City of Edmonton through the Edmonton Arts Council for a project titled, "Voices from Darkness Moving Into Light." Stay posted for further details!
      • In October 2007, we received a grant from the Edmonton Cultural Capital Project for a collaborative and innovative art project. Stay posted for details.
      • In September 2007,we received a grant from the Kinette Club of Edmonton to support operations.
      • In June 2007,we received a grant from the Telus Community Foundation to expand the mentorship aspect of the Eating Disorders Recovery Day Program.
      • In May 2007,we were awarded a City of Edmonton Community Investment Operating Grant for $13,386 for the 2007-08 year.
      • In March 2007, we received a Community Initiatives Program Grant from the Alberta Lottery Fund for $34,000 for the operation of our Eating Disorders Recovery Day Program.
      • In March 2007, the Livia Stoyke Foundation sponsored the art therapy component of our Recovery Day Program. This has permitted one of our practicum student's studying art therapy to buy $1,000 worth of materials to use in working with participants.
      • That Edmonton Community Foundation, Alberta Lottery Fund Community Initiatives Program and Telus provided the funding for our first Executive Director and associated costs.
